Part 3: Transpromo, “It’s in the Mail”

Here’s a little background on how this transaction occurred.  I had recently moved from Atlanta to Denver for a new job.  I arrived in Denver about three weeks before any of my suits, shirts, shoes or ties arrived.  In a desperate situation, I searched the Denver Post and was  hoping for a ”one day sales” since I had a customer meeting the following day.   I then visited the local department store and did about $850 dollars in damages.  Like most department stores, if you use their private branded card, an additional discount would apply towards your purchase.

The bill arrived along with other mailings in which most of the content  right into the into the recycle bin.  I checked the bill and thought, what a great opportunity for transpromo-live. It was unpersonalized, stated the necessary facts, and instructed me when, where and to whom to pay the bill before getting any late fees.

I started to think of the ten of millions of dollars that this store spends on newspaper marketing, web marketings, television marketing and this is how you treat me on  our monthly appointment.  You spend thousands of millions to build your brand, build your store, your customer base, train your employees, and all to serve me.  Then send me a personal correspondence with no thank you, no upsell, no coupons for additional clothing, … well no nothing.  This is a must read document and you wasted our time together.
